P7220050 One thing is for sure, if I didn't work in our test kitchen, I would definitely own a food truck or as i call'em a grease truck. Every time I get out of town I always look for a new one to try. It's a food adventure with the added bonus of being inexpensive (no fancy tablecloths here) and a great way to get the feel of a new city.

P7220054 In my opinion, the people that start up these food trucks are pretty passionate about their food and are willing to do what it takes to get it out there for people to enjoy. It is simply amazing what can be produced in such a small space. In Austin, Texas under a big ole tree on South Lamar is one of my favs, Lulu B's Sandwiches. Last time I was in town, I drove directly from the airport. They keep it super simple: you've got Vietnamese style sandwiches, bowls, and rolls, that's it. Since I had skipped breakfast, on purpose, I stuffed myself with the lemongrass pork sandwich, the tofu summer rolls, and lots of sriacha, of course! Check it out, it's located at 2113 S. Lamar Blvd. near Home Depot. Have you got a "grease truck" you would like to share? I loved to know about it for my next adventure.P7220052

How fun! I just had some chili sauce tacos at a Mexican street cart in Seattle :) There was an article on Portland street/cart food - I'll have to check out a few carts in person when I'm in Portland over the Labor Day Weekend
