Whey Low I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners. As a dietitian, I understand the need for them, but they taste, well, artificial. I'm a sugar girl, I must confess. I want the real thing and lots of it.  My coffee, for example, technically constitutes as a dessert. But that doesn't help my waistline, considering each tablespoon of sugar I so joyfully sprinkle into my beverage is 45 calories. Yikes! Why can't they make a real sugar that has fewer calories? Oh wait, they do! Meet my new favorite sugar product--Whey Low.


It tastes EXACTLY like sugar...because it is sugar. It's a blend of fruit sugar (fructose), table sugar (sucrose), and milk sugar (lactose). Here's the exciting part...It has 75 % fewer calories than typical sugar! Plus, it has a 60%-80% lower glycemic index, which means it produces only small fluctuations in our blood glucose and insulin levels. Great news for those with diabetes. As a matter of fact, we made a bread pudding with caramel sauce, and it was delicious! It seems to bake well. They also make a powdered Whey Low and a brown sugar product. We hope to play with more baked goods in the future.

I could hug your neck. Thank you for sharing this with us. Making sweet southern tea requires loads of sugar. You are correct---sweetners don't hold a candle to real sugar.

Oh this is wonderful. Every time I use a sweetener, I have to hear from my husband how poisonous they are. I will try this. Thanks so much for the tip.

This sounds wonderful! My 19 yr old was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and removing the sugar has been really hard for him. I will definitely seek this product out.

I have tried EVERY sugar substitute there is and this is the ONLY one that doesn't cause intestinal problems. It truly does taste exactly like sugar.

I realize I just misspoke. Stevia is also a good sweetener in that it's all natural and doesn't cause any side effects, but it doesn't taste like sugar and some people really dislike the taste. I enjoy it in my morning tea. It's difficult to bake with since most people don't like the taste as well.
