Chocolatecakeoh1727433l Q: I have a recipe for Chocolate Turtle Cake, but I'm having a hard time finding two of the recipe's ingredients: chocolate extract and dulce de leche ice cream topping?  Any advice on where I can find them? Jasmine D., Poole, KY

A: Thanks for the question, Jasmine.  I ran the question by Natalie Brown, one of our Assistant Food Editors (who just so happens to be one of our resident baking experts), and here's what she says.

Chocolate extract can be purchased online from King Arthur Flour (Natalie has also purchased it at Whole Foods).

As for dulce de leche ice cream topping, Natalie uses the one made by Smucker's, which she says is found on the "end cap" of the ice cream aisle of her local grocery store (next to the other ice cream toppings, syrups, and cones).

I am crazy about the white scalloped plates piped in red on the cover of the April 2009 issue. Can you tell me the name of the plates and where to get them? Thanks

Funny, I've been looking for dulce de leche ice cream topping too and it's great to have stumbled on your post. Okay, I'll continue baking my cake now.

Looked at thr recipe for Sweet-hot No-Cook Pickles.
Are the quantities correct for sugar and vinegar. I did not reserve the original brine from the pickles.
